The pipers are piping, the drummers are drumming, the dancers are dancing; it’s time for the Pipes, Plaid and Pageantry Parade for the 69th annual Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games.
Parade-goers can experience the downtown activity as a wave of tartan and all things Scottish march proudly through the streets of Fergus.
The parade features pipers, dancers, athletes, local groups and more, making it a yearly highlight of the festival.
Officials say the event is sure to get spectators and participants of all ages dancing, cheering and excited for a weekend of Scottish fun and games.The Aug. 7 parade begins at 7:30pm beginning at the east side of Victoria Park on St. David Street and heads north to St. Andrew Street where it heads west, finishing at the Fergus Royal Canadian Legion.
As always, the parade is open to all clubs, community groups and team who wish to display their community pride. Registration forms are available at the festival office or online at www.fergusscottishfestival.com by selecting “Downtown Fergus” under the “Events” tab.
