Music lovers are in for an eclectic delight on the afternoon of Jan. 17 at 2pm at the Wellington County Museum’s exhibition hall. Performers Greg Stroh, Brad Moggach and Judy Douglas bring to the concert piano, flute and horn music, complemented by an electric bass.
A wide variety of offerings including songs by Bernstein, Gershwin, Puccini, Chaplin, and others will be performed, adding to the core program of the Bach e minor Sonata for flute and piano, and the Widor Suite for flute and piano
Stroh plays flute but also electric bass, and has been prevailed upon to join the group in that capacity for some tunes.
Moggach part of the Royal City Saxophone Quartet and occasionally joins the Venturi Winds for some quartet and piano work. He will be providing baroque and romantic era piano along with his skills in jazz.
Douglas is the humorous and knowledgeable M.C., as well as horn player. Together they are sure to be an amusing and tuneful trio, organizers state.
The entree fee of $10 also includes all exhibitions of the museum. The concert itself will take place among the artifacts of Egypt, The Gift of the Nile exhibited running March 27. Tickets are available at the door. The audience are welcome to stay for complementary refreshments after the concert, to mingle with performers and friends.
