On Oct. 1 at about 1am, emergency crews were called to the intersection of Highway 6 and College Avenue for a pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle.
Wellington County OPP, Guelph Fire Department and Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the location.
The 20-year-old male pedestrian from Guelph, was transported to a local hospital by ambulance with life threatening injuries and then transferred to a Hamilton hospital.
The driver of the 2010 Chevrolet, a 25-year-old from Newmarket, was taken to a local hospital by ambulance and treated for minor injuries. West Region OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) assisted with the investigation and the southbound lanes of Highway 6 between Wellington Street and Stone Road were closed for about three hours.
