Pedestrian dies in collision

GUELPH – The Guelph Police Service is investigating after an elderly female died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 3:30pm a Chevrolet sedan leaving the parking lot of a retail store on Eramosa Road near Stevenson Street North struck two pedestrians who were walking across the parking lot to enter the store.

As a result of the collision, a 72-year-old Guelph female sustained severe injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 74-year-old Guelph male sustained minor injuries and was transported to Guelph General Hospital.

The driver of the sedan, a 94-year-old male from Guelph-Eramosa Township, remained at the scene and was cooperative.
