Charity Walk-A-Thon for Zachary’s Paws for Healing is taking place Sept. 23 at Optimist Recreation Center in Guelph.
Zachary’s Paws for Healing pioneered the concept of having pets visit long-term patients in hospital – a program with therapeutic results, and the first of its kind in Canada.
Participants will complete a 1.3 km walk along a wooded trail. The event runs from 10am to noon and registration is $10. The event will also offer:
– therapy ponies;
– Guelph Police canine demonstrations;
– pet photographer;
– free gift bag for registered participants; and
– water for humans and their canine companions (participants are asked to bring a refillable water).
