MOUNT FOREST – The Mount Forest Patriots had an excellent Provincial Junior Hockey League season this year.
Finishing the regular season in first place, the team clinched the North Pollock Division championship. One of the primary reasons for its success was its goal scoring ability.
Beginning Dec. 3, 2022, Marty and Joanne Young, of Young’s Home Hardware in Mount Forest pledged to donate $50 to the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation (LMHF) for each Patriots goal scored for the rest of the season.
Over the course of this fundraiser, the Patriots scored a remarkable 183 goals, bringing Young’s Home Hardware’s total donation to the Foundation to $9,150.
“We are so grateful for the continued generosity of Marty and Joanne, and their team at Young’s Home Hardware,” said LMFH development officer Amy Van Huss.
“This donation will be applied to the current highest priority equipment needs at Louise Marshall Hospital.”
“The Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation would like to extend a warm thank you to both Young’s Home Hardware for their ongoing support, and to the Mount Forest Patriots junior hockey team for their incredible season,” foundation officials state.
