Ontario is partnering with HP Polymers to help grow its operations and improve production, creating five new jobs and retaining nine positions here.
Guelph MPP Liz Sandals made the announcement Oct. 27 on behalf of Jeff Leal, Minister Responsible for Small Business.
Sandals said “HP Polymers produces specialty polymers and resins used in coatings and ink applications. The company serves the automotive, aerospace, electronics, chemical and medical industries.
“With support from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, HP Polymers will invest in new state-of-the-art equipment to produce higher quality products faster, which will increase production capacity. These enhancements will allow the company to diversify its products, strengthen its competitive advantage and create new jobs.”
She added “supporting business investments in Southwest Ontario is part of our plan to create jobs, grow our economy and help people in their everyday lives.”
In a press release Leal stated, “HP Polymers is an important employer in Puslinch.
“Our government’s support for this local small business is just one of the ways we’re helping create new jobs and grow the manufacturing sector in southwestern Ontario.”
Sandals said the government is pleased to partner with companies like HP Polymers that are key drivers of the economy.
“With this investment, HP Polymers will be able to invest in cutting-edge technologies that will reduce production times and improve productivity,” she said.
“We are working with businesses across Ontario to create good jobs and support local manufacturers, and HP Polymers is a great example of local success in Wellington County.”
HP Polymers Ltd.’s North America Managing Director, Michael Coates added, “HP Polymers is excited about the investment we are making in our Puslinch facility.
“Our new state-of-the-art equipment will help produce higher quality products at an increased speed and capacity.
“This, with the new jobs the investment generates, will help take our company to the next level servicing our customers in Ontario and beyond.”
Ontario is investing $257,200 from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, supporting an additional investment of $1,491,196 from HP Polymers.
The project is expected to be completed by December 2021.
