Parkbus announces pilot bus service between Toronto and Elora

Hop on the bus! Elora & Fergus Tourism is pleased to announce the launch of a pilot bus project by Parkbus.

Parkbus is a non-profit initiative providing express bus service to key outdoor destinations in Ontario.

Locally, Elora Conservation Area and the village of Elora have been selected as part of their “day trip destinations” program from downtown Toronto. Torontonians and other tourists will be able to take the bus from downtown Toronto and visit beautiful Elora.

The pilot schedule is small with select dates from August to October, but organizers hope to scale up the service as it gains popularity.

“We are excited about this new initiative and to be collaborating with Parkbus” says Dan Morden, Elora Conservation Area park warden for the Conservation Area.

“Folks from the GTA and surrounding area will now have access to our community and the opportunity to come and visit the conservation area and experience all it has to offer, including a weekend of camping.”

The service provides an opportunity for international tourists, students and new Canadians to explore the world outside the GTA.

In addition, Elora residents can use the service for easy access to Toronto.

The Elora downtown stop will be in the parking lot on the corner of Carlton Place and Metcalfe Street. For more information please visit the Parkbus website at www.parkbus.ca.

Earlier this year it was announced the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport recently approved funding for the first stage of the proposed Parkbus South project this summer.
