A Harriston man faces nine charges following a fatal automobile accident in Mapleton.
The accident, which occurred around 8am on July 11 claimed the life of Darren James More, 43, of Palmerston. Wellington County OPP report a pickup truck with three occupants collided with a pickup truck driven by More. Two passengers in the first vehicle are in critical condition in hospital, police stated in July 12 press release
The driver of the second vehicle, a 21-year-old male, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries. Further investigation revealed the vehicle he was driving had been stolen.
On July 12, Wellington OPP announced that 21-year-old Ethan Robert Noble of Harriston has been charged with:
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Cause Death;
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm (two counts);
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle;
– Driving while Impaired by Drug Cause Death;
– Driving while Impaired by Drug Bodily Harm (two counts);
– Driving while Impaired by Drug;
– Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired by Drug;
– Theft of a Motor Vehicle
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime;
Noble has been held for bail, the OPP state in a press release.
Funeral service set
Visitation for More, who has three children with his wife Pam, will be held at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on July 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. and July 16, from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm
A funeral service will be held at the Palmerston Christian Reformed Church on Whites Road, Palmerston on July 17, at 11am.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Isaac Foundation or towards an education fund for Darren’s children are being accepted.
