The town council here spent just over $132,000 on council pay and expenses in 2010.
Treasurer Gordon Duff provided a breakdown of the payments, as required under the Municipal Act, at council’s Feb. 1 meeting.
Councillors were paid a total of $65,959 in regular earnings, plus $52,935 for extra meetings. Conventions, seminars and expenses totalled $11,466 and mileage costs were $1,933 for a total of $132,294.
Former deputy-mayor Judy Dirksen earned the highest total, at $29,106, consisting of $9,846 in council pay, $14,350 in meeting per diems, $3,739 in convention, seminars, and expenses, and $1,171 in mileage.
Former Mayor David Anderson earned $24,071, made up of $11,968 in regular salary, $10,285 in per diems, $1,398 in expenses, and $420 in mileage.
Former councillor Barbara Burrows earned $17,094, including $8,829 in regular earnings, $6,320 in per diems, and $1,945.
Councillor Rick Hembly received $17,640, including $8,829 in pay, $7,285 in per diems, and $1,526 in expenses.
Former councillor Wayne Martin was paid $14,949, including $8,829 in regular earnings and $6,120 in per diems.
Councillor David Turton received $12,958, including $8,829 in regular earnings, $2,295 in per diems, $1,492 in expenses, and $342 in mileage.
Former councillor Tammy Reiner received $16,473, consisting of $8,829 in regular earnings, $6,280 in per diems, $1,364 and in expenses.
Overall, though costs were down roughly $6,500 from the 2009 cumulative salary cost of $138,745.
