Over $12,000 raised at Harriston Motors”™ 2015 Touch a Truck event

Harriston Motors’ third annual Touch a Truck event raised over $12,000 for Minto Fire’s water rescue team.

The Touch a Truck committee is extremely happy with the result.

“We are extremely grateful to Harriston Motors for their continued support of Minto Fire. Touch a Truck is an awesome family event for our community,” stated Fire Chief Chris Harrow.

The 2015 Touch a Truck event on June 20 at Harriston Motors was attended by close to 2,000 people, organizers estimate. The event included 35 vehicle exhibitors, paddle boats, a bounce castle, a barbecue lunch, Bogle the Clown, a monster truck demonstration and temporary tattoos sprayed by Alexandra’s Airbrush.

Minto Fire was also on scene displaying its new confined space rescue equipment purchased from previous funds raised by Touch a Truck. Firefighters were also found in the barbecue tent barbecuing lunch for everyone.

“It was a great day this year; we can’t wait to try to top it next year,” stated Harriston Motors owners and event organizers Ashley and Paul Van Den Hoven.

Touch a Truck is coming back to Minto for a fourth year on June 18, 2016.
