CENTRE WELLINGTON – A donation of $15,000 from Centre Wellington Remedy’sRx will see outdoor fitness equipment installed at Forfar Park in the spring of 2021.
“We are thrilled and thankful that Centre Wellington Remedy’sRx has generously donated toward the outdoor equipment at Forfar Park” said Mayor Kelly Linton in a press release.
“This will provide our residents with an additional opportunity to maintain their healthy lifestyles and create a safe and active common space for the community.”
Forfar Park is a lot of land measuring just over three acres, located along Gartshore St, just north of Forfar St. E in Fergus.
With the park’s location along the Elora Cataract Trail, it is an ideal location to install outdoor fitness equipment in the park.
Plans for the park also include a shade structure, junior soccer field, and playground with seating.
A new asphalt path connecting the parking and washroom area to the trail and walkway connection to Forfar St. E. will improve the accessibility of the park.
“We are happy to support our community to live healthier while enjoying the great outdoors.
“This partnership with the Township allows us to give back to a community that has given us so much support over the years” said Rachel Luther, pharmacist owner of Remedy’sRx.
During the 2020 budget deliberations, Council allocated $275,000 in the 2020 budget and forecasts another $65,000 in 2021 for a total investment of $340,000 to refurbish this park.
