MOUNT FOREST – Two Arthur residents are among three people facing drug and weapon charges following an incident here earlier this week.
Wellington County OPP officials say an officer “observed a suspicious vehicle parked behind a business” on Main Street South in Mount Forest on March 14 at about 11:15pm.
“As police approached to investigate, one occupant of the vehicle fled on foot but was located moments later by another officer,” police stated in a press release.
“During the investigation, police located a pair of brass knuckles and a substance believed to be methamphetamine.”
The driver and another passenger were arrested after police discovered they were in possession of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine.
“Police also seized a stun gun, drug paraphernalia, and Canadian currency,” police stated.
Gordon Kostal, 39, of Arthur, was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance (methamphetamine), possession of a prohibited device for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with a prohibition order. He is to appear in Guelph court on March 31.
Courtney Elizabeth Snyder, 36, of Arthur, was charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine and cocaine), possession of a prohibited device for a dangerous purpose and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition. She is to appear in Guelph court on April 9.
Dean Primus Mitchelmore, 45, of Orillia, was charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine and cocaine) and resisting a peace officer. He is to appear in Guelph court on April 9.
