The OPP is investigating after “Islamic State” graffiti was found on the side of a church here last weekend.
Police say that sometime between 2:30pm on Aug. 27 and 8:30am on Aug. 28 someone “spray painted Islamic State messaging on the side of Lakeside Church” on Conservation Drive in Guelph-Eramosa.
Wellington County OPP officers, along with the Wellington County Crime Unit, are investigating with assistance from Forensic Identification Services.
“The investigation is in (the) early stages so we are trying to determine what the motive was and who it was,” OPP Constable Marylou Schwindt told the Advertiser.
She added this is the first incident of its kind the OPP has investigated recently.
