Ontario Genealogical Society presents sessions in Guelph

The Wellington County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society will be offering a few sessions in Guelph over the next few months.

Learn the basics of DNA testing including the various types of testing and why genealogists are so excited about using these new tools on Nov. 25 from 12:30 to 1:30pm the Guelph Public Library Boardroom, 100 Norfolk St, Guelph.

Those thinking about researching their family history but don’t know where to start are encouraged to drop into the Guelph Public Library between 1:30 and 4:30pm on Nov. 25 to discover the resources available.

Visitors can also speak to one of the experts to see if they can help solve any research questions.

Nov. 28

The Wellington County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society will be hosting a workshop called Breaking Through Genealogical Brick Walls at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Nov. 28 from 6:45 to 9pm.

The public is invited to join for a discussion and tips on breaking through genealogical brick walls.  

This is an opportunity to discuss what has worked and hopefully, learn some new strategies.

The discussion will be followed by the annual general meeting.
