WELLINGTON NORTH – One person is dead after a vehicle left the road, flipped over and came to rest in a body of water here on Monday.
Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle collision on Sideroad 3 West, south of Mount Forest, at about 6:55am on Dec. 6.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that a [SUV] was travelling on Sideroad 3 when it collided with the guardrail before leaving the roadway and becoming partial submerged, upside down in a body of water,” states a press release from the Wellington County OPP.
“The vehicle was removed from the water and the driver was located inside and later pronounced deceased.”
Wellington County OPP, with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement and Technical Collision Investigation, continue to investigate the collision.
