Centre Wellington councillor Bob Foster was officially absent from two township council meetings last year, but he was still working on township business when those absences occurred.
Foster said on Monday night he is an appointee to the Groves Hospital board.
As such, he was attending conferences for that board.
Foster said he was at an Ontario Hospital Association conference when he missed one meeting, and was attending an Ontario Hospital Association meeting on finances when he was absent from council the other time.
His absences from council meetings was noted in a survey conducted by the Wellington Advertiser in an article published last week.
Only one councillor who consistently missed a large number of missed meetings was asked to comment about why his attendance was poor.
