PROVINCIAL PREMISES REGISTRY
The Provincial Premises Registry (PPR) is an Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) initiative and the only official provincial registry for obtaining a Premises Identification Number (PID) for Ontario agri-food businesses.
Proposed amendments to federal traceability regulation would require identification of all premises where livestock may be loaded or unloaded from vehicles. The PPR is the destination for registering parcels of land in Ontario associated with agri-food activities.
Agricultural business owners and operators can register their premises securely, easily and for free.
In spring of 2018 OMAFRA is transitioning the delivery of the PPR from Angus GeoSolutions Inc. to Agricorp.
As a Crown Agency, Agricorp has a longstanding record of delivering programs and services to Ontario agriculture and agri-food stakeholders.
Agricorp is currently developing an enhanced PPR system, designed to bring an improved online user experience to register and update along with additional operational efficiencies.
The PPR will continue to provide the level of service through Agricorp’s call centre that users have come to expect from the program.
Premises Identification Number:
Livestock and Poultry
PID is a way to link livestock and poultry to specific land locations (or premises). It is critical for controlling and preventing the spread of animal diseases as well as managing other animal health emergencies (e.g. fires, floods, etc.).
A PID number is associated with any parcel of land with its own legal land description, regardless of the livestock and poultry species present. Get your PID early (which is quick, easy and free to request your provincial government) to support traceability and protect our livestock and poultry industry. You can update your information by calling 1-855-697-7743 or by visiting www.ontarioppr.ca. Should you have any questions regarding the transition please contact OMAFRA at 1-877-424-1300 or traceability@ontario.ca.
