PROGRAMS AND SERVICES FOR ONTARIO FARMERS FACTSHEET

Check with your commodity organizations for additional commodity-specific programs that may be available through your associations.

The provincial government supports growth in Ontario’s agri-food sector by providing farmers with funding programs that support good jobs, attract investment, and help them make an even greater contribution to Ontario’s economic success.

Growing Forward 2 is a federal-provincial-territorial framework that offers resources, tools and cost-share funding assistance to eligible producers to grow profits, expand markets and manage shared risks.

Jobs and Prosperity Fund – Food and Beverage Growth Fund – https://www.ontario.ca/page/jobs-and-prosperity-fund-food-and-beverage-growth-fund

Within the Jobs and Prosperity Fund, the Food and Beverage Growth Fund provides funding for strategic investments that help create sustainable jobs; enhance innovation, productivity and market access; and strengthen supply chains in the food, beverage and bioproduct processing sectors. This fund is available for food, beverage and bioproduct processing projects across the province with more than $5 million in eligible costs.

As a farmland owner in Ontario, you may be eligible to apply for a property tax reduction through the Farm Property Class Tax Rate Program.
