It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Lawrence Young announce his passing on Thursday, January 6th, 2022 at the age of 91. (East York Firefighter, Captain – Retired). Predeceased by his loving wife Mary (1997). Loving father of Donna (Wally, Michael (De), Paul (Cindy). Predeceased by daughters Carol, Cathy and Maryann. Cherished and adored Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Great-Great Grandfather. Bob will be fondly remembered by many including his loving companion Elsie. Many health professionals deserve thanks for the exemplary service provided in Bob’s final journey including, the staff at the New Groves Hospital in Fergus, the family doctor Dr. G. Bedard, the Community Paramedics, the many PSW’s provided by Peace of Mind Care, Right at Home Canada and the LHIN via Bayshore, the O.T., IGSW and Rapid Response Nurse. Special thanks also goes to the many wonderful and caring neighbours at Pine Meadows Retirement Community including Sue and Chris Dalton, Sandra and Keith Soloman, and Lillian Verkindt to name only a few. It is reassuring that Bob’s widow, Elsie Young, is surrounded by such caring people. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke would be appreciated.
