WINGER, Lois Jean

November 18, 1956 - October 25, 2024

Of Age Care, Elmira, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the age of 68 years. Daughter of the late Clifford & Trudy (Huber) Winger. Sister of Mary & Mervyn Rae, and John & Fran Winger, all of the Town of Minto. Aunt of Matthew & Meghan Rae, Megan Rae & Brock Cadwell, Nichole & Greg Raymond, Alison & Nathan Peters, and Dylan Winger, and great-aunt of Edwin, Samuel & Isla. Niece of Joyce Huber of Conn, Evelyn Winger of Listowel, and Bruce Eade of Fordwich, and remembered by her cousins. Lois entered the world on November 18, 1956, the 1st born of Cliff and Trudie Winger of Stouffville, Ontario. She had a difficult entry, resulting in cerebral palsy for her. She rarely seemed to let that get her down, however. She was a fighter, feisty in character, and determined to make her way in the world. She had a keen sense of humour with a loud laugh. Lois entered long-term care a few years ago. She enjoyed making cards and other items on her computer for family, friends, and staff members at her home. Perhaps she was thinking more about her Heavenly Home in the last year. One of her last posts on Facebook was a song/video of the Haven of Rest Quartet called Leaving On My Mind. She suffered a fall a couple of months ago, which caused her great pain, but she was beginning to heal. Age, other health issues, and her CP were all taking a toll on her, and she passed into the Lord’s presence on the evening of Friday, October 25th. She is now free; running, jumping and dancing in her new eternal Home. Visitation was held at Palmerston Evangelical Missionary Church on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. A private interment service took place at Maple Grove Cemetery on Wednesday morning, followed by a public funeral service at Palmerston Evangelical Missionary Church at 11:00am. Pastor Phil DesJardine officiated. Memorial donations to Youth For Christ would be appreciated, and may be made through the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
