Passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on Sunday, October 9, 2022, on his boat in Turkey Point. Dave was born 58 years ago in Guelph, Ontario and was a long time resident of New Hamburg. Cherished and loving husband of Sherri Lightfoot Wilson. Proud father of Matthew and his wife Caitlin Wilson. Loving papa of Parker Wilson. Dave will be forever missed by his father and mother John (Sam) and Hanna Wilson, sister Angela and her husband Larry Gagnon, mother-in-law Marilyn Lightfoot, sisters-in-law Judy Restoule and husband Claude and Renee Lightfoot, nephews, Shawn and wife Laura Kennedy, Jeffrey Kennedy, Robert Gagnon, Peter Gagnon, Scott Restoule and Corey Restoule and by his great-nephews Lincoln and Wilder Kennedy and by all who knew him. Predeceased by his father-in-law Allen Lightfoot. Dave was a social butterfly and was able to make friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed spending time at his second home, which was his boat in Turkey Point. He was a sports lover, enjoyed playing hockey and baseball and watching his favourite teams while enjoying a beverage or 2… with those he loved. He spent time scuba diving, golfing and road biking. Dave was a proud coach of the New Hamburg Minor Hockey Leagues Huskies. He even was proud of his prize car, his jag (which is for sale for those interested). Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announced at that time. As expressions of sympathy, donations to New Hamburg Minor Hockey Association or the KW Humane Society would be appreciated by the family and can be done through the funeral home website.
