Wellstead, Don; Right into the arms of the Lord on December 27, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Fergus. Devoted husband of 50 years to Terri (nee: Howard). Loving and caring Dad to Calista (Danny Hunter) and Kent (Allyson). Loving Popa to Trevor, Victoria, Riley, Ariana and Macauley. Survived by brother Keith and sister-in-law Bettyanne. Don graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science of Forestry. After University, Don started his career at Howard Smith in Mattawa. Don then worked for Domtar Pulp & Paper in Cornwall. The highlight of his career was working as the Superintendent of Forestry for the Mackenzie District in Canada’s North. Don’s passion was singing bass in the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church Traditional Choir. He was a magnificent wood carver, builder of historic model war planes, photographer and an avid hunter and canoeist. Don’s funny jokes and smiling face will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Family and friends were received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. S. in Fergus, on Thursday, January 1, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s the Immaculate Roman Catholic Church, 267 Geddes St. in Elora on Friday, January 2 at 11am.
