Weir, Margaret Elizabeth (nee Day) – Of Eramosa Township, passed away with dignity on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Riverside Glen in Guelph. Predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, John Gordon Weir (2003). She will be missed by her seven children; Susan from Calgary, Pat, Paul, Steven (Patti) of Guelph, Chris (Jessie) of Eramosa, Alex (Janice) of Eden Mills and David of Guelph. Lovingly missed by her 15 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Survived by her sister-in-law Margaret Day. Predeceased her brother Watson (Watty) Day (1996), sister-in-law Margaret Somerville, and her parents Marshal and Doris Mae (Hilton) Day. In spite of recent struggles, Mom always maintained her character and sense of humour. The family would like to thank the staff of Riverside Glen and a special appreciation to the Eramosa floor for their wonderful compassionate care. Friends were received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Friday, June 15 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A private family interment was held at Eramosa Union (Johnson) Cemetery. The Funeral was held at Barrie Hill United Church on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2:00pm. Reception followed in the church hall. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Barrie Hill Kitchen Renovation Fund or the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
