VanLeeuwen, Jacob “Jake”; Peacefully, with family by his side, Jacob VanLeeuwen, 78, was taken home to the LORD on August 18, 2014. Survived by his children and their spouses, Dan and Jane VanLeeuwen (Barrhead, AB), Louise and Don Dewitt (Carman, MB), Jeff and Jane VanLeeuwen (Elm Creek, MB), Ken and Lyn VanLeeuwen (Cambridge), John and Barb VanLeeuwen (Barrhead, AB), and Emily and Albert Breukelman (Vineland) as well as his beloved grandchildren, 31 in all, and also 33 great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters who will also miss him are Audrey and Keith Lodder (Guelph), Hannah and John VanBodegom (Orangeville), Emma and Cory Flokstra (Surrey, BC), Keith and Ann Vanleeuwen (Guelph), Dan and Janet VanLeeuwen (Fergus), Theresa and Gary Vis (Hamilton), Bob and Dianne VanLeeuwen (Fergus), Albert and Sonja VanLeeuwen (Barrhead, AB), Ena and John Post (Alma), and Simona Woods (Fergus), as well as many nieces and nephews. Private funeral services were held at Lane’s Cemetery, Spring Creek, ON. Memorial gathering took place August 21, 2014 at 2:30pm at Elora Canadian Reformed Church, Rev. Clarence J. VanderVelde officiated. “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; Your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of Your hands.” Psalm 138:8.
