Obituary

Passed away peacefully on Monday April 17, 2023 in her 84th year. Yvonne was predeceased by her beloved husband Harry Van Der Heyden. Loving mother of Donna Van Der Heyden and cherished grandma of Benjamin, Olivia and Alexa. Yvonne will be fondly remembered by her brother and sister in laws, John and Marlene Heyden, Jo Heyden (the late Pete Heyden), Adrian and Ruth Heyden, Leo and Carol Heyden and Marie Thompson as well as many nieces and nephews. Yvonne had many friends at the Hillsview Active Living Center Acton and will be missed at the Friday lunch and Bingo game as well as bazaars, social nights and Casino trips. Donna would like to extend a special thank you to Yvonne’s friends who, over the years, gave her rides to and from events, brought her coffee each Friday, and delivered food on Thursdays.The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at the Georgetown Hospital for their compassionate care of Yvonne while she was there. A visitation will be held at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St. East, Acton, on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 1 – 2pm, funeral service to follow at 2pm. A private family interment at Fairview Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Hillsview Active Living Center Acton or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
