TREMBLAY, Joseph Paul Fernand; Passed away peacefully at Saugeen Valley Nursing Center, Mount Forest on Wednesday April 27, 2016. Joseph Paul Fernand “Fern” Tremblay in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Helmi Tremblay. Loved father of Ken Tremblay & wife Siobhan of Ennismore and Debbie Veldhuizen & husband Harry of Kenilworth. Loving grandfather to Stephanie McIntosh & husband Chris of Palmerston and Scott Veldhuizen and fiancé Donna Wright of Drayton. Cherished great grandfather of Kennedy & Maddie. Fern will be fondly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and 11 siblings. Fern had a strong work ethic and worked tirelessly in his younger years. After working nearly 20 years for Abitibi as an “Industrial Relations” specialist, he left his Toronto workplace to follow his dream of farming. Along with Helmi, he started a prosperous dairy farm near Arthur, learning as he went. After selling the dairy farm in 1979, he began one last venture. Starting with bare land near Essex, they planted 7,000 apple trees and “Quadero Orchards” became another dream come true. After a decade of hard work in the apple industry, Fern and Helmi retired to St. Joseph’s Island where he enjoyed fishing and feeding the deer that wandered in the back yard. Cremation has taken place. Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Palmerston and District Hospital – Dialysis Unit would be appreciated by the family.
