Trask, Donald R. a.k.a. (Adorable the Clown)

Trask, Donald R. a.k.a. (Adorable the Clown) Passed away on February 1st, 2013 in the Cowichan District Hospital. Born at 102 Maple Ave., Welland, Ontario on April 20, 1928 to Reverend and Mrs. R. D. Trask, the eldest son in a family of eight. He joined the Canadian Navy in 1945, trained in Esquimalt, and saw active service in the Korean War. Married in Victoria in 1951 to Lorna Jean Webb, they returned to Ontario, and raised three children while Don was working as a Custodial Officer, Police Officer and Police Instructor. Lorna and Don returned to Victoria, BC when he retired from the Ontario, Government Services. Don is survived by his loving wife Lorna; children, Brent (Beth), Terry (Teresa), Dawn (Frank Greco); 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, brother of Marie Stoddart, Barb Stewart-Schieck, Leslie Trask, Lillian Ingram (Bill) and Marion Ferguson (Bob) and sister-in-law, Dolores Trask. Predeceased by his parents Reg and Irene Trask, two sisters-in-law, Donna and Shirley Trask and three brothers-in-law, Doug Stoddart, Arnold Stewart and Doug Schieck. For the past 20 years of his retirement, Don was a Shrine Clown “Adorable” entertaining children and adults alike with his clowning, parading, parties and face painting in the park. He took up Wood Carving as a hobby and became quite proficient. At Don’s request, there will be no formal service. Flowers gratefully declined, memorial gifts in his memory may be sent to the Gizeh Transportation Fund, c/o Cowichan Valley Shrine Club P. O.
