TOUT, Marion Lenore (Stevenson)

May 10, 1931 - February 4, 2021

of Palmerston passed away on February 4th, 2021 at Palmerston District Hospital in her 90th year. Survived by her husband of 66 years William E. Tout. Mother to Catherine (George) Mabee, Bill (Ruby) Tout and Ray (Donna) Tout. Grandmother to Jennie Mabee-Eidt, Sara Mabee, Trevor (Julie) Tout and Billy, Chantal, Brittany, Breindel & Brody Tout. Great-grandmother to York, Cora, Alexa, Landon, Laney, Felicity & Grayson. Predeceased by her parents Edith (Boyce) and Thomas Stevenson of Chesley and her brothers George & Tam Stevenson. Born at home on May 10th, 1931 she arrived into the world weighing only 3 pounds. She was ‘small but mighty’ and this trait served her well through the next 89 years of her life. Mom graduated from Toronto Nursing School in 1950 and many people benefitted from her kind and compassionate care. As a lifelong member of the Anglican Church she served on many different committees. Service to her community included Cub Master, driving for Meals-On-Wheels and working at the Hospital Auxiliary booth for many years. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, cake decorating and floral arrangements. We will always treasure the beautiful quilts she created. As a long time member of the curling and lawn bowling clubs she enjoyed many hours socializing with friends. Weekends in the summer were spent camping with her family or sailing on Georgian Bay with her husband. Her many trips to the Caribbean included a Cruise to celebrate their 40th Wedding Anniversary. Road trips included travel to the East Coast and West Coast of Canada and to Alaska. Due to the pandemic there was a private family service held in the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Monday, February 8, 2021. A link to view Marion’s service will be available at
www.heritagefuneralhomes.ca below her notice on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 9:00am. The family would like to thank the staff at Royal Terrace and the doctors and nurses at Palmerston District Hospital for the excellent care Mom received. As expressions of sympathy donations to Palmerston District Hospital would be appreciated.
