Thalen, Hendrika. Gone home to be with her Lord with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at the Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus. Hendrika Thalen (Scholing) of Fergus, formerly of Listowel in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Jacob (1983). Loving mother of Hank (Betty) of Moorefield, Andrew (Edith) of Listowel, Marg (Hank) VanDonkersgoed of Gorrie, Jake (Linda) of Chilliwack, B.C., Alex (Henny) of Fergus, Herb (Jeanny) of Everson, Washington, Morris (Mary) of Abbotsford B.C., Rita (Garry) Hovius of Chilliwack B.C., Dinah (Bert) Hutten of Fergus, and Phyllis (John) Nymeyer of Lethbridge, Alberta. Loving Gramma/Oma of 53 grandchildren and 113 great grandchildren. Hendrika is survived by 3 sisters and 2 brothers and a number of nieces and nephews and other family members. Pre-deceased by 4 brothers and 3 great grandchildren. The family received their friends at the Canadian Reformed Church, 610 Belsyde Ave East, Fergus, from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Friday, March 5th. A private family burial service was held in Listowel on Saturday, March 6th, followed by a funeral service the same day (Saturday, March 6th) at 1pm at the Canadian Reformed Church, 610 Belsyde Ave. E.
