It is with sadness we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, Beppe and great-grandmother Margaret Terpstra on Saturday, June 24th, 2023 in her 89th year. Dear wife of Wiebe Terpstra with whom she shared 65 years. Mother of Peter (Mary), John (Susan), Wendy Greenfield (Jerry), Edward (Judy), Anne Young (Cameron), Bruce (Sheryl), Andrew (Sylvia), Leonard (Monica-Lynn) and Marsha deVries (Luke). Beloved Beppe of Bill (Angela), Jimi (Kyle), Shawna, Kendra (Jon), Christina (Faisal), Erin (Rob), Jamie (Dave), Brandon, Brianna, Kevin (Christina), Jason (Jessica), Scott (Breann), Shane (Terri), Matthew, Jake, Ryan (Holly), Sara (Kyle), Jodi (Martin), Michael (Esther), Jenevieve, Lillian, Analiese, Nathan, Joshua and Kaela. Great-grandmother of 11. Born in the Netherlands, Margaret immigrated to Canada with her family in 1951. Daughter of the late Johan Kruis and Wietske (de Boer). Margaret was born third in a family of 11 siblings – Cecelia Slaman (John), Henry (Lois), Ed (Nelly), Sister Dora csj, Joanna Terpstra (Joseph predeceased), Mina Klunder (John predeceased), John (Geraldine), Bill, Leo (Dora), Herman (Evelyn). Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Margaret also leaves cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends in the Netherlands. Margaret’s family was the center of her life. Special gatherings often had three large tables surrounded by family sharing a meal. Margaret had a great passion for knitting, sewing and quilting. She enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble and loved to dance. Margaret enjoyed the produce of a large garden and flowers around her home. She was a member of St. Boniface parish in Maryhill and a proud member of the Catholic Woman’s League. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St N., Guelph, where the family received their friends on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 4-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Boniface Church, Maryhill on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 10am. Interment in St. Boniface Cemetery, Maryhill. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society or to St. Boniface Church would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to thank Dr. Hood, the Physicians, Nurses, and Care Workers at Caressent Care, Arthur; Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus and Hamilton General Hospital who provided such professional and compassionate care in Margaret’s last weeks.
