Taylor, Arthur Cameron

Taylor, Arthur Cameron;  (May 30, 1991- December 2, 2012)  Cameron Taylor, in his 22nd year.  Survived by parents, John and Linda, sisters, Laura and Emma, grandmothers Helga Nielsen and Elaine Taylor, aunt Mary Dianne Taylor Waind (Tom), Uncles Gary (Cathy) and Dan (Sylvie) Nielsen, cousins Ben, Kristina, Thomas, Phillip, William, Audrey, and Marie. Deeply loved and missed by his sweetheart for life Amy Robinson. Predeceased by grandfathers Arthur Taylor (1993) and Johan Nielsen (2012). Cameron’s earthly journey ended on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton. As in life, Cameron’s final moments with us were peaceful, calm, and hopeful, sharing random, happy thoughts. Our golden boy was born on May 30th, 1991 in Guelph and he grew up in Rockwood, attending Rockwood Centennial School and John F. Ross CVI. One of Cameron’s favourite places was the Rockwood Conservation Area, with many happy hours spent exploring the park and caves. Cameron loved political debate, social justice, video games, playing trumpet in the John F. Ross school band, Magic Cards, camping at Tom’s and road trips with Chris and Eric. He attended the University of Ottawa and studied political science and history. His first term there was cut short by his initial cancer diagnosis. He won his first bout with cancer and returned to complete his freshman year. In June 2012 he developed secondary leukemia and fought on, through chemotherapy, radiation, and a stem cell transplant. Our family will be eternally grateful to his donor and to the compassionate medical team and caregivers who did everything possible to save him. Unfortunately, there was not to be a second cure. We are left to carry on without him; but we are not left without his memory and inspiration. Cameron was funny, articulate, adventurous, eager, caring, positive, genuine, absent minded, loyal and had the most beautiful smile in the world. He refused to worry and played the role of peacemaker to perfection. May he dwell in light always. Friends were received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street Guelph, Ontario on Wednesday, December  5, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral  Service was held in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012.
