TARC, Elizabeth Anne (Nee Daub)

July 9, 1938 - January 21, 2025

Of Palmerston passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest Long Term Care in Waterloo on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 in her 87th year. She was born in Kitchener on July 9, 1938 to Alfred and Loretta Daub (Nee Bitschy). Betty was a dedicated Elementary School Teacher for many years in Palmerston, Moorefield and north Wellington County schools. She was a devoted member of the local Catholic parish, playing the organ on Saturday evenings for decades. She was a passionate volunteer in many community initiatives, including Meals on Wheels and music and literacy activities at Royal Terrace retirement home. Betty loved to read, bake, sew, quilt, knit, play cards, spend time with small children and laugh at jokes. In her last years she struggled with dementia and the family is thankful to the care workers at Royal Terrace in Palmerston and Columbia Forest. Betty will be fondly remembered by friends and family. Elizabeth is the beloved wife of the late Andrew Tarc (2021). She is survived by her children: Angela Boland (partner Garry and children Tommy and Robbie), Paul Tarc (partner Aparna and children Gabriela, Ana, Rebecca and James), David Tarc; great-grandchild: Marina; and her four younger siblings: David Daub (partner Penny and children Chris and Lisa), Michael Daub (partner Judy and children Cam and Melanie), Judi Howard (partner Paul) and Pat Downey (deceased partner Gerry and children Jason, Kristin and Allison). The family will receive friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, 267 Main Street W, Palmerston on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00pm. A Mass will be held in St. Mary The Immaculate Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00am followed by interment in Palmerston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends can donate to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or to their local public library.
