Swift, Newton Robert Oliver; of Drayton, passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Hospital Fergus on Monday, June 21, 2010 in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Marie Swift (Price) for 69 years. Loving father of Laverne and Genette Swift of R.R.#2 Moorefield, Marilynn and Paul Driscoll of Drayton, Eileen Pringle of Belwood and Brad and Paula Swift of Drayton. Grandfather of Karen Swift of Moorefield, Cindy Swift of Calgary, Wayne Driscoll of Drayton, Bill and Lesley Driscoll of Kelowna B.C., Donna and Trevor Witteveen of Elora, Paula and Seb Holzamer of Drayton, Tim Driscoll of Drayton and John Driscoll of Drayton. Rhonda and Robert Franklin of R.R.#2 Alma, Dwight and Gloria Pringle of Kenilworth, Linda and Herman Scholten of Hanover, Kyle Pringle of Belwood, and Stephanie and Ashley Swift both of Drayton. Great grandfather of Daniel, Melissa; Ty, Brooke, Colson, Callie; Shane and Tamara, Alexander, Benjamin, Isaac and Katrina. Brother of Harvey and Leone Swift of Fergus. Brother-in-law of Alda Swift of Fergus. Remembered by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by granddaughter Samantha Paula Swift (1994) and one brother Ken Swift. The family will receive friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Drayton on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Rev. Jeff McCracken will conduct the Funeral Service in the Drayton United Church on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 11am followed by interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
