It is with sadness that the Swift Family announces the peaceful passing of their mother, Alda Mae Swift (Clark) in her 98th year, at Caressant Care in Arthur. She was surrounded by the love of her sons and is now reunited with her loving husband Ken (2007). She was the loving mother of 4 boys; Floyd (Judy) of Fergus, Doug of Wasaga Beach, Ron (Brenda) of Alberta and Bob (Gwen) of Fergus. Loved and cherished Grandmother to 9 Grandchildren; Gary (Tina), Kelley (Steve), Becky (Chris), Lesli (Dave), Greg (Rebakah), Joanne, Mark (Kay), Shelley (Paul) and Mike. Loving Great Grama to 13 Great Grandchildren; Lucas, Alex, Jacob, Nicholas, Tanner, Josh, Katie, Grace, Zach, Lexi, Josh, Pablo, and Ashrena. She is fondly remembered by her sister-in law, Marie Swift, nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Sharon Swift, brothers-in-law Newton and Harvey Swift, sisters-in-law Leone Swift and Janet Clark. Alda was a generous loving woman who cared deeply for her family, she was a marvelous cook, avid reader, loved music, enjoyed quilting and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Quilting Guild of the church in Fergus. All contributing to a life well lived. The family would like to thank the staff of Caressant Care in Arthur for their wonderful care during her stay there. Visitation will be held on Friday May 13, 2022 from 11am–12pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, Fergus with a service beginning at 12pm in the chapel. Reception to follow service from 1pm–2:30pm upstairs in the Wellington Room. Private burial to take place. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alda’s memory may be made to the Groves Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
