STRUB, Georgina “Georgie”

March 20, 1940 - June 13, 2024

Georgina “Georgie” Strub of Elora, ON and Melbourne Beach, FLA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of late William “Bill” Strub. Loving mother of Derek (Jen) and Greg (Dee), sister to Paul Careswell and late Sue Belair, grandmother to Alex (Andy), Lauren, Hayden, Jacob (Emily), and great grandma “GG” to Lilah and Millie. Lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, family and friends. Georgie was born in Branford Ontario March 20, 1940, daughter of the late Alma Violet Emby and live most of her life in Elora, ON. Georgie ran 5 businesses in Elora, including clothing design, popcorn, catering, hair salon, and Country Plus. She especially enjoyed designing and patterning water bed sheets, and providing popcorn to local schools for kids. Georgie was the interior decorator of the Elora Mill and redesigned the Mill 3 times during her career. She started a figure skating club for girls, and was President of the Chamber of Commerce for 10 years in Elora. Georgie lead many adventures in fund raising in Fergus and Elora, and enjoyed speaking at conferences, including Leadership for Women to start their own business. She enjoyed travelling all over the world, and lived in beautiful Melbourne Beach, FLA during the winter months, where she had many friends who became family, and was the Director of Activities at the Outdoor Resorts Association. Most recently, Georgie relocated to Port Stanley, ON, and enjoyed partaking in activities, such as Euchre, at the legion while getting to know her neighbours and community. Georgie glowed through living her life to the fullest, and was truly an inspiration. She will be dearly missed by all of those that knew her. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
