Strouth, Robert Louis; September 3,1924 – March 11,2010
Passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 11, 2010 in his 86th year. Bob was born in Blacksburg, Virginia and was a U.S. Airforce Veteran of WWIl. He was an active member of the K-W Community, a lifetime Mason (Shriner), Rotarian and member of Toastmasters. The Strouth family immigrated to Canada in 1954 from Dayton, Ohio so that Bob could open a manufacturing plant, Lau Blower Company. His career with Lau spanned over 35 years and he moved from Janitor to President of the company before he retired. Predeceased by his beloved wife Betty Lou Weiser on March 21, 2003. Loving father of Robert Louis Junior (Rick) and his wife Linda of Barrie, William Lee (Bill) and his wife Lynn of Wasaga Beach, Emily Ann and her husband Douglas Morrison of Fergus, Aimee Lou and her husband Greg Todd of Etonia, formerly of Paris. Dear Papa of Natalie Upshaw, Jennifer Strouth, Geraldine Mulder (Bill), Emily Todd (Peter Beck), Charles (Chuck) Todd (Shelley Babin), Whitney, Brett and Erin Strouth and six greatgrandchildren with one on the way. Survived by his sister Alyce Marie BIumenstock, Dayton, Ohio and sister-in-law Emily Ann Weiser Swartzel Bolinger (Rex), Dayton Ohio. Predeceased by his parents Dora Hurt and Walter Strouth, brothers Walter Junior, Harold, Larry and sister Dorothy. At Robert’s request cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives were invited to a memorial visitation on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the Erb & Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A service to celebrate his life was held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 3pm with Lucy Graves officiating.
