STEWART, Laura Ann (nee: Johnston). Laura Ann Stewart of Ospringe passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus, on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in her 86th year. Best friend and beloved wife of Vernon Stewart. Dear and loving mother of Deborah Clark (Bill), David Stewart (Wendy), Jim Stewart (Lynda), Judy McKenzie (Ken), Steven Stewart, Christopher Stewart (Stephanie) and Flora Tibando (Dominic). Predeceased by daughters Susan Laura Stewart (1978) and Carol Dian Stewart (1980). Cherished grandma of Crystal Gibson (Rich), Jason Clark (Kerri Ann), Rebecca O’Neil (Michael), Joshua McKenzie, Josiah Stewart (Niki), Jacob Stewart (Amanda), Peter Stewart (Neda), Dan Stewart (Lyndsay), Nathan Stewart (Sarah), Matthew Stewart (Caitlin), Melissa Tibando and Wren Stewart, and great-grandma of Dylan, Heaven, Alyssa, Greyson, Hannah, Brody and Braden.  Survived by her sisters Muriel Banas (Carl) and Viola Hawkes, her brother Jack Johnston (Ernestine) and her sisters-in-law Lorna Stewart (Ed) and Audrey McNaught Stewart (Aleck).  Laura will also be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Laura loved her Lord Jesus, her family and her community. She was a faithful elder and member of the Ospringe Presbyterian Church. She worked tirelessly alongside her husband Vern in their livestock trucking business and on the farm. Laura accomplished much in her life but she always talked favourably about the children of Ospringe Public School, where she was the school yard monitor. The children called her “Grandma” and Laura loved them. A special thank you from Laura’s family to Dr. Gergovich, Dr. Stickney, Dr. Cummings, Dr. Anderson and the nurses of the Fergus Groves Memorial hospital, and also for the prayerful support from Pastor Fulé Badoe, Pastor Bob Radford of River of Life International Fellowship, Guelph, and Pastor Michael Harris of Kingdom Life Church, Guelph, and to their church congregations. Friends were invited to the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Monday, December 28 from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service was held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, December 29 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. As expressions of sympathy donations to Fergus Groves Memorial Hospital or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
