STEWART, June

May 14, 1931 - April 10, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful, loving mother. At almost 93 years young, Mom passed peacefully, with family by her side. Predeceased by husband Vic and son Brian. Mom had a passion for reading, Lee Child and John Sandford being her favourite authors. She enjoyed playing hidden object games on computer and from day one, loved her Blue Jays. She often claimed she could manage the team better than some that passed through the role, and we believed her, she just knew her team that well! And she loved her job at Rohm & Haas Canada (the company that invented Plexiglas!) as executive secretary/admin to several presidents of the Canadian operation and after her retirement, organized the retirees’ monthly luncheon for many years. But above all, anyone who knew her, knew her true love was her family. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Vic, in an ice cream shop where, she would tell us with a wink, she served him milkshakes and sodas, for free. They married in 1949 and produced 4 children, and through them, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. That is her proudest legacy. Mom is already sadly missed by children Collin (Nancy), Karen, and Dave (Judy), grandchildren Andrew (Ashley), Josh (Rochelle), Paul (Mallory), Jeff (Kelly), Julie (Kyle), great grandchildren Blake, Reid, Claire, Charlotte, James, Bella, Austin, and Robin, brother Steve (Marie), nephews Jason and Ryan, cousin Barbara (Don), as well as Collin’s daughter-in-law Jaime, her husband Kyle, and their children, Mom’s “adopted great grandchildren” Audrey and Evelyn, and Gavin, yet another “adoptee” by Mom, grandson of Dave and Judy. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mom’s life will take place in the near future. Contributions in June Stewart’s memory to the Milton District Hospital Foundation (https://mdhf.ca/) would be appreciated, a place where she, as was her style, connected with her nurses and doctors who took wonderful and attentive care of her in her final days.
