It is with deep sadness, we announce that after a brief illness John passed away peacefully, at Strathcona Long Term Care, Mount Forest on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 in his 81st year. Beloved son of the late Peter & Harmke Steringa. Survived by his brother Peter of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, sister Emily (Roger) Kelly of Cincinnati, Ohio and brother Jerry (Janet) of Acton, Ontario. Sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Eda of Brampton, Ontario and Grace of Georgetown, Ontario brother-in-law Herb Armitage of Okotoks, Alberta and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Jacob and Andrew, sisters Mieke Buisman and Debbie Armitage, sister-in-law Jenny and brother-in-law Tim Buisman. The family greatly appreciated the wonderful compassionate care that John received at Strathcona Long Term Care, Mount Forest. Cremation has taken place and at John’s request there will be no visitation or service. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of John are asked to consider a charity of choice.
