It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Kenyon Smith on March 18th, at the age of 91. Loving husband and best friend of Carol. Paul will be lovingly remembered by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as many friends. He was an avid fisherman and nature enthusiast, with a passion for sports.
“I pray that I may live to fish
Until my dying day
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord’s great landing net
And peacefully asleep
That in His mercy I be judged
Big enough to keep.”
Visitation was held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home (280 St. David Street South, Fergus) on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10am until 12pm, with a funeral service that took place in the chapel at 12pm. Following the service, guests were invited upstairs to the Wellington Room for a time of fellowship and refreshments, prior to interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park (762 Woolwich Street, Guelph). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SickKids Foundation, and are greatly appreciated by Paul’s family.
