Passed away peacefully at the Strathcona Long Term Care, Mount Forest on August 8, 2024 in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of David Slater of Kenilworth for 47 years. Loving mother of Doug and Bernice Smith of Waterloo and Cathy and Steve Elliott of Fergus. Cherished grandmother of Gregory and Adam Smith; Michael and Danielle Elliott. Predeceased by her parents Archie and Helen Douglas, twin sister Ruth in infancy and brother Jim Douglas. To honour Mary’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Crawford Funeral Chapel, 243 George Street, Arthur on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
