Of Arthur passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, August 10, 2024 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Maurice Shaw (2003). Loving mother of the late Duane (2015) and Wendy Shaw of Arthur, Debbie and Hank Pietrowski of Arthur and the late Kathy (2013) and Lindsay Dyce of Arthur. Cherished grandmother of Shawn and Julie Shaw, Sherri Shaw, Sheila and Jonathan Faulkner; Julie and Brian Rooney, Jamie and Drew Pietrowski, Jeff and Jennifer Pietrowski; Marcia Dyce, Paul and Bridgette Dyce, Melissa and Nick Hutchison, Melanie Dyce, Dan and Samantha Dyce. Much loved great grandmother of Faith, Autumn, Tegan, Avery, Angus, Caden, Madden, Hunter, Eli, Cohen, Gavin, Jaxson, Jack, Hendryx, Oliver, Hailey, Findlay and great, great grandmother of Lyle. Sister of Glenda Dundas and sister-in-law of Bob Checkley. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Harold and Annie Bell and siblings Nelson Bell, Bruce Bell, Violet Prentice, Edna Hutchinson, Ruby Shea, Nora McQueen, Mildred Rogers, Laura Hoffman, Ralph Bell, Joyce Kelly, Marjorie Dowdall and Peggy Checkley. Shirley was an active member of the Grace Anglican Church and the Arthur Opti-Mrs Club for many years. She enjoyed camping and for many years traveled with the Gypsy Campers and also went on many bus trips with her dear friend Veva. Shirley looked forward to the yearly family vacation to Sauble Beach and just loved spending time with her large family. The family received friends at the Crawford Funeral Chapel, 243 George Street, Arthur on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. The Funeral Service of Remembrance was held in Grace Anglican Church, Arthur on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 11:00am followed by interment in Greenfield Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to Grace Anglican Church, Arthur and the Arthur Opti-Mrs Club would be appreciated by the family.
