Obituary

Loving husband of Sue, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener, ON with his family by his side. Barry was predeceased by his parents, Ken and Jeanne Scott of Toronto, and by two of his children, Carolyn and Gordon. He is survived by his children Sherri (Chad) and Rob (Jen), 11 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Barry leaves his sisters, Janet (Jerry) and Jill (Henry) and their families, and his cousins, Ken and Lynn Rodger. Barry spent the greatest part of his working life at Brampton Hydro before retiring to the Bay of Quinte and then to Fergus, ON.  Barry was an avid golfer, curler and he also loved to entertain his many friends. A consummate handyman, with a perfectionist’s eye, Barry was always willing to lend a helping hand and tackled every challenge with expertise and an unwavering level of pride. This was clearly evident by the beautiful homes that he and Sue created everywhere they lived. Barry enjoyed spending winters in Florida, when his health permitted, and he had a unique and effortless ability to make life-long friends wherever he went. The last year had been a very challenging one for Barry due to poor health and he was always so grateful for the love and support of his family and friends. His journey has touched many lives and he will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener.
