SCHILL, Marguerite Dorothy (nee Jackson)

June 20, 1930 - April 4, 2023

Marguerite Schill of R.R.2 Alma, passed away peacefully at Palmerston and District Hospital in her 93rd year on April 4, 2023. Predeceased by her loving husband, Oscar Schill (2022), to whom she was married to for 70 wonderful years. Cherished mother to Larry (Debbie), Linda Lorentz (Albert), Pauline Brunkard (Scott), Dan (Rhonda) and Pete (Danielle). Grandmother to Shawn (Bridget), Dave (Stephanie), Michael (Miranda), Doug Lorentz (Vicki), Jennifer Bambach (Ryan), Ron Lorentz, Trevor Brunkard, Travis Brunkard (Nicole), Alyssa Brunkard (Jordan), Troy Brunkard (Megan), Trent Brunkard, and Timothy Brunkard, Jocelyn (John), Kaylee, Jessica Cowan (Brad), Kurtis (Alison), and Erin (Riley). Great-grandmother of 16. Sister-in-law of Mary Schiebel and Geraldine Schill. Marguerite will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter, Rosemary; her parents, Ralph and Ruby Jackson; and siblings Ross Jackson and Betty and William Misselbrook. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Esther and Casey Sagan, Harold and Dorothy Schill, Rose and Werner Weickert, Betty and Gord Biggar, Lilly Lippert, Ralph and Betty Schill, Cos Schiebel, Ruth and Willy Lorch, Clifford Schill, and Frank in infancy. Marguerite was deeply devoted to her family and her church. She was the most kind, caring, and loving person. Her family is comforted by the wonderful memories they treasure of her. Marguerite worked with pride alongside her husband on their family farm. She had a special place in her heart for all animals. Marguerite welcomed everyone with a warm heart and her friendly nature. Her thoughtful gestures will never be forgotten. Marguerite’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude towards the staff at Royal Terrace Nursing Home for the kindness and excellent care she received over the last four years. We’d also like to extend our thanks to the staff at Palmerston and District Hospital. The family received relatives and friends at Heritage Funeral Home in Drayton on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm. A funeral mass celebrating Marguerite’s life, was held at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church in Drayton on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 10:00am, followed by interment at the Drayton Cemetery. A light lunch and memory-sharing will follow at the church hall. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society.
