Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus at the age of 72 years. Adored husband of Diane (Brown) Rooyakkers of Belwood for over 42 years. Cherished father to John of Arthur, Joanne of Fergus, James (Jimmy) and Ashley of Guelph, Joseph and Hillary of Belwood, Jeffrey and Sarah of Moorefield, and Danny Potts of Guelph. Proud Opa of Benjamin, Zachary, Annabelle; Andelyn, Archer, Odin; William, Mackenzie, and Alexis. Dear brother of Casey and Jane, Andy, Leo and Mary, Martin and Mary, Henry and Ivy, Helena, Joanne, and Pat and Catherine. Peter will be missed by many nieces, nephews and their families. A memorial mass will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at St. Joseph’s RC Church, 760 St. David St. N., Fergus with a reception and time of fellowship to follow. Interment in St. John’s RC Cemetery, Arthur at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation or St. Joseph’s RC Building Fund would be appreciated and may be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
