1965 – 2023 On February 4, 2023, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, Michael passed away with his family at his side at Humber River Hospital, Toronto. Michael is survived by his dear wife Grace, of the Philippines, his two sons Stephen and Benjamin Renton, both of Orangeville, his father William of Guelph, his big brother Brent (Susan) of Durham, and his dear twin sister Michele (Brian Lichty) of Cambridge. Michael will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins from all over Canada. Michael was predeceased by his loving mother Norah Annette (Aljoe, Knox), and his uncle Paul Aljoe, with whom he shared a special bond. Michaels work took him all over Ontario, setting up and managing Inventory Control Systems for many different companies – a challenge that Michael could not seem to get enough of. Michael got a chance to make a change in life and moved to the Philippines for eight years. There he met his wife Grace, and with her, they set up many small successful businesses. Michael returned to Canada in 2019 and in 2021 joined the firm Noble industries as Inventory Manager. One of Michael’s greatest enjoyments was trying to beat the odds on hockey and baseball pools by using the computer skills that he had developed over the years. A visitation will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home- Dublin Chapel (252 Dublin Street N., Guelph) on Saturday, March 4th from 10:30 to 12:00pm. A Memorial Service to follow at 12:00pm in the Chapel. Cremation has taken place. Internment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation made in Michaels honour to the Canadian Cancer Society, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
