REINDERS, Hendrik (Hank)

It is with great sadness yet gratitude for a life well lived that we share the new of the loss of our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and uncle.

“Well done, good and faithful servant…Enter into the joy of your Lord.”

Hank was a treasured husband to Aaltje (Alice) Reinders-Fluit; a loving dad to Jean (George – 2005), Rose (Ron – 2014), Fred (2023), Gerald & Nancy, Frances & Robert,  Ronald & Marion, Marilyn & Murray and Joy. Adored by his grandchildren Cheryl & Eric, Alisa & Tim, Jared, Bethany & Justin, Thomas & Alyssa, Preston, Chad & Jessica, Shane & Kailyn, Chelsea & Joel, Scott & Lindsay, Carly, Krystle. He cherished his great grandchildren, Bel, Lil, Imogen, Axel, Eden, Mae, Owen, Miles, Levi, Rhett, Calvin, Henrik, Heidi, Noa and the little one expected to arrive later this year. He was the son of Koob Reinders and Roelofje Heuvelman. He is survived by his brother Joop (Willie), in-laws Gerda, Henny (Werner) and Trijntje (Jan). Predeceased by siblings Nies (Jan), Marie (Stoffer), Egbert (Wietske), Ge (Willem), Freek (Jantje), Freda (Frank & Martin), Max (Riek) and Jantje (Henk & Dirk) and by his in-laws Ge (Roel), (Gezinus), Jantje (Rieks) and Jenny (Minze). He will be fondly remembered by Jake Marissen and family; and nieces and nephews – Henrietta & Heinze, Keith, Ruby, Evelyn & Fred, MaryAnn, Joe & Lois, Helen, Fran, Grace and Gerald. Dad and Mom married in February 1951 and almost immediately immigrated to Canada. Dad worked his year in agriculture and then proceeded to get a job as an automobile mechanic. When vehicles became computerized, he moved on to repairing farm implements. In his retirement he maintained the flower beds at The Crest in the summer and cleared snow in the winter. Dad was an avid reader, but he never seemed to be able to find time to read all the books he had collected. When mom stopped baking he decided that if he wanted home baked goods he would have to learn and proceeded to bake carrot cake, chocolate chip & oatmeal raisin cookies and knippertjes. Dad took great joy being in God’s creation and he loved to travel. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place in the Drayton Christian Reformed Church on Monday, June 24 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. The Memorial Service will held in the Drayton Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday, June 25 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to World Renew or Community Christian School, Drayton would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the  Heritage Funeral Home, Drayton.
