PULLES, Bert. b.1937 died peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on Dec. 11, 2015. Bert emigrated from Eindhoven, Holland in 1964. He settled in rural Hillsburgh and Belwood before moving to Guelph in the early 90’s. Bert was a baker’s son, a cook in the Dutch army and later a welder by trade. He worked for George Thomas in Fergus before a long career at Walinga until his retirement in 2002. Bert is survived by his sister Francine (Pieter VandeVan) of Oakville, his son Rene Pulles (Cathy Lesperance) of Fergus, and daughters Monique Lee (Glen) of Fergus, and Michele MacRae (John) of Elora and their mother Ria Pulles of Fergus as well as his grandchildren Kirstin and Sarah Pulles, Gunner Lee, and Maxwell and Annabelle MacRae. Predeceased by his son Leon (1988) and his brother Jan (2011). Many thanks to Dr. Little, Marion Willms and the family health team at Guelph General Hospital for their care for Bert in his last days. A Memorial Service for Bert will take place at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Saturday December 19, 2015 at 1:00pm. Reception to follow.
