PEDERSEN, Eileen Mary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Eileen Mary Pedersen. Passed peacefully away on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Wellington Terrace in her 98th year. She was the proud mother of 5 children: Karen (Les), Kristine (Bruce, deceased), Bill (Becky), Mary (Christopher) and Margret (Craig, deceased). Dear sister of David White (Mollie) and predeceased by her parents William and Alice White, brother William and sister Vivian. Dear grandmother of Mark and Jaclyn, Travis and Damian, Colin and Glen, Rachel, Erik and Sarah and William, David, Christopher and Steven. Great – grandmother to Isabelle, Calista and Christopher, Natalie, Ziazan, Riley and Ella. Eileen will be remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbours that visited her at Wellington Terrace. Mom lived her life to the fullest. Always ready to try anything once! She had a craft store called “The Hen House” where she made Faberge eggs and Tiesel trees. Then became the owner of the “Yarn Bird” on Mill Street in Elora where her custom knitted sweaters kept her and other knitters busy. Eileen belonged to the Elora Art Society where she first did oil paintings, then watercolor and finally acrylic. She and several local artists painted a mural of Elora landmarks near the Geddes grocery store. Mom had many interests including walking the trail with her poles, exercise/yoga classes, swimming and her favourite “happy place” the casino where she spent more time than she should. Eileen was also an avid member of the “Red Hat Society” and loved to read and do crossword puzzles. A special thank-you for the wonderful care by Drs. Incitti and Stickney. Also to the great staff of nurses and PSW’s at Wellington Terrace. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, details to be announced. Arrangements entrusted to Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com). Memorial contributions to Victoria Order of Nurses Canada or charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Eileen M. Pedersen in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
